Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Centre launched its nationwide campaign, Dreamathon 2017, in partnership with Cello GelTech, India’s largest manufacturer of writing instruments, during Kalam Youth Fest at Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi, on February 9, 2017. Dreamathon 2017 is an initiative inspired and created from Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s vision of igniting passion, encouraging creativity and showcasing talent amongst the youth of India.
The website was launched a day prior on February 8, 2017 by Shri P.P. Chaudhary, Honorable Union Minister of State – Ministry of Law and Justice; and Ministry of Electronics and IT, at his residence in New Delhi.
Shri P.P. Chaudhary said, “From being the Missile Man to the President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam inspired many to dream big. It makes me very happy to see Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Centre leading the youth of the nation on the path of his vision and mission. Through the Dreamathon Campaign, they are motivating the citizens of the country to dream big. As a part of this campaign, the Centre will spread awareness about Digital India Campaign as they connect the rural and urban India in this Dream-Marathon through Internet facilities. I support their campaign and wish them luck”
The interactive website gives details about the campaign which captures dreams of the youth through an expression of Drawing or Creative Writing. The website also features the navigation of the ‘Missile of Dreams’ Van which will be traveling from state to state and showcasing the dreams of the youth along with the teachings and ideologies of Dr. Kalam.
